No. 11 Gymnastics Hosts No. 21 Ohio State Saturday

EAST LANSING, Mich. -Â No. 11 Michigan State gymnastics hosts No. 21 Ohio State for its second-straight home meet on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. on Jenison Field House. Saturday's meet will serve as the Spartans' annual Breast Cancer Awareness meet.
The meet will stream on B1G+.
MSU came in at No. 11 in the first national qualifying score (NQS) RoadtoNationals rankings of the season, posting an NQS of 196.875. The first week of NQS rankings dropped each team's highest and lowest scores and averaged the remaining scores.
The Spartans earned their third-straight score over 197.000 with a 197.250 home tri-meet victory over then-No. 24 Maryland and Western Michigan last week. MSU now sits at 5-4 overall on the season and 3-2 in the Big Ten. In the conference standings, UCLA sits in first with an unblemished 5-0 record, while MSU's 3-2 record is in a five-way tie for second with Minnesota, Iowa, Penn State and Ohio State.Â
MSU's 197.250 against the Terrapins and Broncos was its second-best score of the season, while the Spartans also set season highs on bars (49.350) and floor (49.575).Â
In the team event rankings, MSU is a team-high No. 9 on vault (49.213 NQS), No. 16 on bars (49.119), No. 12 on beam (49.238) and No. 10 on floor (49.325). Individually, senior Sage Kellerman ranks 10th nationally on bars (9.895 NQS), senior Nikki Smith ranks seventh on floor (9.915) and junior MaKayla Tucker (39.175)and Smith (39.170) rank 20th and 21st, respectively, in the NCAA in the all-around.
The Spartans captured at least a share of all four event titles in last weekend's tri, with Kellerman earning both the vault and bars titles to collect her second Big Ten Specialist of the Week nod of the season. Kellerman also shared the vault title with Smith, who shared the floor (alongside freshman Korynne Marquart) and all-around title with Tucker. Tucker also captured a share of the beam title.Â
SCOUTING OHIO STATE
Ohio State is 21st in this week's RoadtoNationals rankings with a 196.294 NQS. The Buckeyes are coming off of a 196.475-196.300 loss against Washington at home last weekend and hold a 3-3 overall and 3-2 B1G record in 2026. Ohio State's highest-ranked event is floor, where it ranks 11th in the NCAA and third in the conference with an NQS of 49.319.
MSU and and Ohio State last met in a dual meet during the 2025 season in Columbus, with the Spartans earning a 196.800-195.750 victory. The Spartans have not dropped a contest to the Buckeyes since a 197.075-196.850 loss on the road in 2022.Â

MSU travels to Minneapolis for the Big Four Meet, hosted by Minnesota, on Sunday, March 1 at 4 p.m. ET to close the B1G portion of its schedule. Minnesota, Illinois and Rutgers will compete in the meet alongside MSU, which will be broadcast nationally on the Big Ten Network. Final conference standings will be determined after the conclusion of all three Big Four meets.
