East Lansing, Mich. – Former Michigan State women's golfer Brooke Biermann was named an honorable mention All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on May 27.
Biermann helped lead the Spartans to the NCAA Championships for the third-straight year and the fourth time in the last five earlier this season, capping off one of the best seasons in program history.
Biermann is the 10th golfer to earn All-American honors and this is the 16th All-American for a Spartan under Slobodnik-Stoll. This is the second-straight year the Spartans have had an All-American honor as classmate Katie Lu was an honorable mention selection following the 2023-24 season
An All-Big Ten First Team selection this year, Biermann led the team in scoring average at 71.91, which ranks as the fourth-best single-season mark in program history. She tied for the team lead in events played (12), rounds played (35) and was third on the team in rounds counted, with 92.8 percent of her rounds (32.5-of-35) counting toward the team total.
In 12 events, Biermann finished among the top-5 four times, among the top-10 five times and had 10 top-20 showings. She was the team's top finisher in seven events, including a career-best 11-under par 205 to finish in second place at the Mary Fossum Invitational during the Fall. Bierman was named to the All-Big Ten Championship team after finishing in fourth place with a 3-under par 213.
Biermann leaves Michigan State as one of the all-time greats in program history, carrying a career scoring average of 72.96 over 48 events and 142 rounds played that ranks third all-time in program history.
Three of Biermann's single-season averages rank among the top-20 all-time at Michigan State. In addition to her performance in 2024-25 that ranks No. 4 all-time, her mark of 72.89 as a sophomore in 2022-23 is No. 14 all-time and a 73.16 average in 2023-24 as a junior ranks No. 15.
Biermann shot an 8-under par 64 in the third round of the Mary Fossum Invitational on Sept. 23, 2024, setting a personal best for a career low round and tying the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history. Her score of 205 at the Mary Fossum Invitational is tied for the third-lowest 54-hole score at MSU.
Biermann, who won the Missouri Amateur last summer and played in the U.S. Women's Amateur, won a qualifier last month and will play in this week's U.S. Women's Open at Erin Hills Golf Course in Wisconsin.
