Kehoe, Valderrama Sweep Big Ten Golfer of the Week Honors

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State senior Taylor Kehoe was named the Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week and Lucia Valderrama was tabbed the Big Ten Women's Golf Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Thursday.
The Spartans are coming off a third-place finish at the St Andrews Links Collegiate in Scotland, where MSU closed the tournament with a 4-2 win over the University of St Andrews on Wednesday.
Kehoe earns her first Big Ten Golfer of the Week nod after a strong showing while in Scotland. Kehoe tied for sixth place at 1-under par 143 (71-72) and followed that up with a 3-under par 69 and a 5up win in match play in the final round.
Valderrama, who tied for 21st play during the stroke play portion, fired a 3-under par 69 in Wednesday's match play during a 1up win.
The competition in the St Andrews Links Collegiate was the final event of the fall portion of the season for the Spartans, who will be back in action next semester as the championship portion of the schedule gets underway.
