Another Successful Saturday On the Water for Spartan Rowers

Ypsilanti, Mich. --Â Michigan State rowing had a successful Saturday at Ford Lake Park in Ypsilanti, earning a sweep of all four races over host Eastern Michigan.

Racing conditions were chilly and overcast, with the rain subsiding shortly after racing began at 10 am. The Spartans had two entries in each of the first two races, and claimed both first and second place. The third varsity eight race, MSU's 3V8 was clocked in a time of 7:14.9, followed by its 4V8 in 7:35.5.  In the fours race, MSU's 1V4 was 17 seconds ahead of its 2V4, which was a length ahead of the Eagles at the finish.Â
MSU's varsity eight had another successful outing, clocked in 6:36.6, more than 25 seconds ahead of its EMU counterpart. The second varsity eight completed the course with a similar margin, 6:56.2-7:18.9.

The Spartans are off next weekend, but return to action for the Big Ten Invitational Regatta on April 18-19 in Sarasota at Nathan Benderson Park.
