
Spartans Fall to No. 7 Ohio State in Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State men's tennis team concluded its 2021 spring season on Friday with a 4-0 loss to No. 7 Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals held at the Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Buckeyes (19-2) opened the match by claiming the doubles point, then won three singles matches on courts two, three and six to clinch the victory and advance to the semifinals. It marked the fifth time OSU and MSU faced each other this season.
The Spartans finish the season with a 6-14 overall record and went 5-11 in conference play. MSU won five Big Ten duals and also won a match in the Big Ten Tournament (vs. Iowa in first round on Thursday) for the first time since 2014. The Spartans are only graduating one player from the roster and will return all of their starters in singles and doubles next season.
