C.J. Stroud led the Buckeyes (10-1, 8-0 Big Ten) by completing 32-of-35 passes for 432 yards and six touchdowns.
Payton Thorne was 14-of-36 passing for 158 yards for the Spartans (9-2, 6-2 Big Ten), including a 12-yard TD to Keon Coleman in the fourth quarter. Darius Snow led MSU with a career-high 16 tackles, while Angelo Grose had eight stops. In limited action, Kenneth Walker III was held to 25 yards on six carries.
OSU controlled the first half and took a 49-0 lead into halftime.
Ohio State scored on the game's opening possession, going 86 yards on 12 plays in 4:12 to take a quick 7-0 lead as Stroud found Chris Olave in the end zone on a 23-yard pass. Stroud connected on a 77-yard pass to Garrett Wilson on OSU's next possession as the Buckeyes went up 14-0 with 8:03 left in the first quarter. Olave caught his second TD of the quarter on a 43-yard catch in the back of end zone with 2:31 left in the opening quarter to make it 21-0 in favor of OSU.
Stroud threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game early in the second quarter (14:05), this time finding Julian Fleming 4 yards in the end zone, while Miyan Williams scored on a 1-yard TD with 10:02 left in the half for the Buckeyes. Ohio State took a 49-0 lead into halftime after scoring two more touchdowns in the second quarter.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, but Coleman caught his first career touchdown on a 12-yard completion in the first play of the fourth quarter to get the Spartans on the board, which capped an eight-play, 51-yard drive for MSU.
Ohio State added a late TD in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard rush by Master Teague to make the final 56-7.
Michigan State returns to action for the regular-season finale on Saturday, Nov. 27 in Spartan Stadium to take on Penn State. The game will start at either 3:30 or 4 p.m. (time will be finalized Saturday night).
