EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Spartans are back home for their final home meet of the season against Cleveland State. The meet will take place at McCaffree Pool at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Â
"I think the number one goal for us is just to continue the momentum that we had coming off the weekend," said head coach Matt Gianiodis. "At times, we've had a bit of a drop off, so it'll be nice to hopefully stay consistent. They have a really good team. We've swam against a lot of teams from the Horizon League this year so we'll be used to this."
Â
Last Saturday, the Spartan men and women both defeated Oakland University led by freshman Emma Inch and junior Aidan Farley. Inch finished with three victories in the 500 and 1000 freestyle as well as the 200 butterfly.
Â
Finishing the day with three individual victories and one relay win was Farley. His wins came in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle along with a victory in the 400 freestyle relay.
Â
The Spartans also dominated on the diving boards including three different divers claiming first-place finishes. Junior Amanda Ling took first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter on the women's side. For the men, sophomore Ari Wolfson claimed first in the 1-meter, while sophomore Jakob Heberling took the win on the 3-meter board.
