EAST LANSING, Mich. -Â The Michigan State swimming and diving program returns back home after the holiday break to host Oakland University on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. The meet will take place at McCaffree pool.
"Oakland's a really good team. It's a good rivalry for us," said head coach Matt Gianiodis. "We do this meet every year, so I'm really looking forward to it. It's one of our last home meets and only one more to go for our senior class after that. We're looking to do the best we can and hopefully build off what we did last week."
Last Friday against Big Ten opponent Purdue, two Spartans took home a pair of event victories on the evening.
Senior Michael Schwers claimed first-place finishes in both the 100 and 200 butterfly, clocking times of 49.50 and 1:50.60, respectively.
Taking the victory in both the 200 butterfly and the 200 IM was junior Marie Dickson. Dickson finished with times of 2:05.32 and 2:07.57, respectively.
The Spartan women finished the evening with a win in the 400 freestyle relay, (Chloe Reed, Kennedy Truex, Allie Heineman and Olivia Chick), touching the pad at 3:34.56.
