NCAA Pullman Regional Starts Monday For Spartans

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State is making its program-record fourth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. The Spartans will be one of 14 teams competing to the Pullman Regional, hosted by Washington State University. In total, there are six regional sites containing a total of 81 teams. The top five teams and the top individual not from the five qualifying teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA finals, which will take place May 24-29 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Each of the six NCAA Regionals will take place Monday, May 13 – Wednesday, May 15.

Par / Yardage: 70 / 7246
Format: 54 holes of stroke play (play 5, count 4) with the top five teams advancing to the NCAA Championships
Schedule: Round 1 (Mon.): Michigan State will tee off between 11:25 – 12:09 ET from hole No. 1
Round 2 (Tues.): Round two tee times and pairings will be determined by Monday's finish
Round 3 (Wed.): Round three tee times and pairings will be determined by Tuesday's finish

A venture of Washington State University, Palouse Ridge is located east end of the WSU campus and is the home course of the Cougar men's and women's golf teams. A links-style design built to championship standards, the eco-friendly course fits the rolling topography of the Palouse and offers panoramic views of distant mountains in Idaho and Oregon.

The Palouse Ridge Golf Club was designed by golf course architect, John F. Harbottle III. After opening in 2008, the success of the golf course is accredited by its selection to host the Pac-12 championships in 2012 (women) and 2015 (men). Golf Week listed Palouse Ridge at No. 3 for college courses, behind Yale and Williams College.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Spartans had their best finish at the Big Ten Championships – third – since winning the title in 2008. Donnie Trosper was named to the all-tournament team by tying for fourth place, which was also the best finish at the league championships by a Spartan since 2008. The Spartans moved up one place in the final round after being in fourth after each of the first two days.
