Spartans Complete Play at Wildcat Invite, ITA All-American Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. & Tulsa, Ok. – Michigan State women's tennis players competed at the Wildcat Invite and the ITA All-American Championships this weekend.
At the Wildcat Invite, freshman Tia Mukherjee and junior Caroline Szabo competed for the Spartans.
Mukerjee won her first match against Christine Gouws of Eastern Illinois in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, before falling to Tiffany Chen of Princeotn, 6-4, 7-5.
Szabo fell to Michelle Los Arcos of James Madison, 6-0, 6-2.
Szabo and Mukherjee paired for doubles at Northwestern. The duo fell to Collic and Arendt of UIC, 6-4, before defeated Tulloch from Kent and Leschly of Princeton, 6-0.
In the pre-qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships, senior Samantha Memije and sophomore Lauren Lemonds competed in singles.
Memije fell to Okalhoma State's Alana Wolfberg, 6-4, 6-3, while Lemonds dropped a 6-0, 7-5, decision to Megan Davies of South Carolina.
UP NEXT: Michigan State will host the ITA Midwest Regional Championships from Wednesday, Oct. 16 to Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
