Lewis Wraps Up Play at ITA Midwest Regionals

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women's tennis completed play this afternoon at ITA Midwest Regionals at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
Junior Mary Lewis was the last Spartan standing in the six-day tournament as she advanced to the round of 16 in main draw singles after an upset victory over the No. 2-seed and No. 26 ranked player in the nation, Chiara Lommer of Michigan, in the round of 32.
In the round of 16, Lewis fell to No. 112 in the nation, Mia Rabinowitz of Illinois in three sets. After dropping the first set, 3-6, Lewis rallied to a 6-3 victory in the second, before falling in the third set, 3-6.
UP NEXT: MSU women's tennis concludes the fall portion of its schedule at the Louisville Invite in two weeks from Friday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 3.
