Women’s Tennis to Close Fall Season at Louisville Tennis Classic

MSU travels to Louisville for the last fall tournament of the season.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women's tennis closes out its fall schedule at the Louisville Tennis Classic, from Friday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Ky.
MSU will begin doubles play on Friday morning at 10 a.m. against Marquette, before facing host Louisville at 11 a.m. MSU will take on Tennessee-Chattanooga (UTC) in singles at 3:30 p.m. to close out the first day of competition.
The Spartans will take on UTC in doubles at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Marquette at 11 a.m. MSU will then face host Louisville in singles at 1:30 p.m. MSU closes out the tournament at 10 a.m. on Sunday in singles against Marquette.
Last time out, the Spartans hosted the ITA Midwest Regional Championships at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. Junior Mary Lewis advanced to the round of 16 in main draw singles, after an upset victory over No. 2-seed and the No. 26 ranked player in the nation, Chiara Lommer of Michigan.
Two doubles pairs, senior Samantha Memije and sophomore Nicole Stephens and sophomores Lauren Lemonds and Maja Pietrowicz, advanced to the round of 16 in main draw doubles.
Michigan State faces tournament attendee Marquette during the spring season on Saturday, Feb. 1 on the road.
