Jack Murray Announced as Volunteer Assistant Coach

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Jack Murray was announced as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's tennis program by head coach Gene Orlando on Monday, August 27.
"We are excited to have Jack join our coaching staff," said Orlando. "Jack has had success at every level of tennis, from juniors to the professional level, and his work ethic is unmatched. Going forward, he will be an invaluable resource to help develop our players both on and off the court."
Murray, a 2017 graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a native of Beverly Hills, Michigan. At North Carolina, Murray amassed a career singles record of 102-35 alongside a doubles record of 94-33.
Murray's career as a Tar Heel started strong earning a spot on the All-NCAA Tournament team for doubles play as a freshman.
As his collegiate career progressed, Murray earned Third Team All-ACC honors and All-American honors as a sophomore after reaching the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals. During his junior season, Murray helped the Tar Heels to an ITA National Collegiate Indoor championship.
Murray was a sought-after-recruit coming out of the Roeper School in Birmingham, Michigan, ranking 12th in the country on tennisrecruiting.net in the Class of 2013.
