
Tennis Adds Two for 2017-18

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team has announced that it will welcome two freshmen to the roster for the 2017-18 season. Ava Thielman (Shelby Township, Mich.) and Sara Kuuttila (Albuquerque, N.M.) have both signed National Letters of Intent to enroll at Michigan State next fall.
"I expect Sara and Ava to help catapult MSU women's tennis to new heights, on the courts, in the classroom, and in the community," said head coach Kim Bruno. " They are not only outstanding tennis players, but exhibit great character. I am excited to welcome them to the Spartan family and honored to become their coach."
Ava Thielman – Shelby Township, Mich. - Utica Eisenhower
5-star recruit… Highest ranking of 53 nationally in the senior class… Attends Utica Eisenhower… Parents are Steve and Darice… Finalist at the USTA Midwest Closed… MHSAA Division 1 finalist.
Sara Kuuttila – Albuquerque, N.M. - Laurel Springs School
5-star recruit… Highest ranking of 38 nationally in the senior class… Attends Laurel Springs School… Parents are Bill and Lisa… Competed on the ITF Junior and Pro Circuits.
