On the statistics making up for underperforming…
Yeah we should never get out rebounded by a team like that and that's a major problem right now. We went into the game talking about that and really didn't get much production. You always have the things you need to get better at this time of year, certainly. We need to have a little bit more of a killer instinct. There's people on this team that have an opportunity to play that maybe sat out a year ago behind people and didn't like that but that's what they did because there were other players in front of them who were performing and now it's their turn and their time to step up. So we talked about how being competitive doesn't have an age. To me, I don't care if you're a freshman or a sophomore or redshirt, whatever. You've got to bring some tenacity and toughness, and I didn't think we had that and I'm not exactly sure why but I'm going to figure that out. That's on me to figure it out.
On if it is the lack of energy…
I think there are some things going on. I mean we don't have Jenna. We have about two or three kids that have had lower leg injuries whether it be late in the summer late in the fall so I don't think we're in great shape. Some of them are not in good enough shape. They're trying to battle through being physically tired because they haven't been able to run up and down the floor. It's a problem. I watched it go on for a little bit and thought maybe we could get through it but when you have lower leg injuries, they just shut you down. Getting on a bike doesn't translate to a basketball court. It just never has never does. We've got to find a way to get these kids back in shape and still not get to a point where we're hurting them from a lower leg injury standpoint but that's some of the problem. We're not in great shape 1-5 and some of it is injury based and some of it isn't.
On Taya Reimer's performance…
I mean we really focused on that in the last game. Taya needs the ball more, and we need to get her more shots and we watched some film and talked about some things and number one I think we got her the ball more and number two I think she was more aggressive when she got it too which made a big difference. It was good to see her be aggressive like that and be able to play in situations where we can bring her. She's got that nice 15-footer and she can rip and drive people. We try to move her around so it's not the same every time. She does a really good job of being a mis-match, especially when we have we at the five position. I was proud of the fact that she really stepped up and was aggressive offensively today and then our players did a great job of understanding she needs the ball more.
