
Powers, Sritragul Earn NGCA All-America Scholar Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Caroline Powers and Jenny Sritragul have been named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-America Scholar Division I Team.
The criteria for selection to the NGCA All-America Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Powers, an education major who recently completed her junior year, owns a 3.85 GPA. She also made the NGCA All-Scholar Team as a freshman and sophomore.
A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Powers enters her senior season at MSU in 2012-13 with the lowest career scoring average in program history at 74.39. She is a two-time All-Big Ten First Team selection and honorable mention All-American.
Powers was also recently named the George Alderton Award winner for the second consecutive year, which is awarded to the top female athlete at Michigan State.
Sritragul, an accounting major, compiled a perfect 4.0 GPA her freshman year in 2011-12. A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Sritragul won MSU's "Best First-Year Player Award" after leading all newcomers on the team with a 79.60 scoring average.
Under head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, Spartan women's golfers have been named NGCA Scholar All-Americans on 27 occasions.
