
Men's Tennis Continues Action at Frank Been Invite

Day Two Results
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team continued with day two of the Frank Beeman Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the MSU Outdoor Tennis Courts. The Spartans continued their strong fall with 17 wins amongst the doubles and singles draws.
In the White Flight singles, there is a pair of Spartans in the finals in Gijs Linders and Ronnie Hulewicz. Linders advanced with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Aleman of Duquesne, while Hulewicz posted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Schmerin of Youngstown State. In the back draw, Drew Lied posted a pair of wins to be in the finals of the west bracket. Lied first dispatched Choudhary, 6-4, 4-6, 10-5, before tallying a 7-5, 6-2 win over Jones of Dayton.
Aaron Pfister posted two victories in the east bracket of the Green Flight singles. First Pfister posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over Cabrini of IPFW, before taking care of Carpenter of Duquesne, 6-1, 6-0. Denis Bogatov also posted a win in the east side of the Green Flight, downing Ismail of YSU, 6-7, 6-1, 10-8, before falling to Abgaryan of Duquesne, 6-4, 6-4.
Harry Jadun continued his strong start to his young Spartan career with two additional wins for the MSU tally in the State Flight singles east bracket. Jadun first topped Foreman of Detroit, 6-0, 6-1, before downing Bernier of Dayton, 6-1, 6-3. Doug Zade was also victories for the Green and White, as he topped Stabley of Detroit, 4-6, 6-4, 10-3.
The Spartan Flight singles was one of the most successful flights for the Spartans, as both Will Davis and Ryan Richmond tallied two victories on the day. Davis, on the east side, dispatched Ismail of Youngstown, 6-3, 6-4, before posting a 6-2, 6-3 win over Tomei of Detroit to advance to the finals. Richmond's first victory of the day came over Romier of IPFW, 7-6 (4), 6-0, before he was victories over Rubin of Duquesne, 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles action, the Spartans have a pair of tandems in the finals of the A Flight doubles east bracket, as both Bogatov and Pfister, and Austin Brooks and Linders are set to face each other in the finals tomorrow. Bogatov and Pfister advanced following an 8-4 win over Carpenter and Aleman of Duquesne, while Brooks and Linders topped Nunez and Escobar, 8-4.
Hulewicz and Davis have reached the finals of the B Flight doubles east bracket following an 8-2 win over FitzGerald and Ducret of Wright State.
Action concludes at the 2011 Frank Beeman Invitational tomorrow (Sept. 18) at the MSU Outdoor Tennis Courts, with action slated to begin at 9 a.m.
