
No. 44 Tennis Falls to Indiana, 6-1

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team fell in its first conference road match today, March 25 to the No. 32 ranked Hoosiers of Indiana, 6-1. With the loss, the No. 44 Spartans are now 13-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
Freshman Aaron Pfister earned the lone point for the Spartans at No. 4 singles and remained undefeated in dual matches by defeating Claes Goransson, 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Denis Bogatov fell in the No. 1 spot to Langer, 6-3, 6-2, while junior Ron Hulewicz was defeated by Gruter despite winning the second set, 3-6, 7-6, 6-10. Senior John Stratton fell to Josh MacTaggart, 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 3 spot.
Freshman Drew Lied fell in the No. 5 spot to Isade Juneau 7-5, 3-6, 5-7 while senior Jason Norville was defeated by Stephen Vogl in the No. 6 position 2-6, 6-7.
In doubles play, Norville and Stratton fell in the No. 1 slot to Gruter and Langer, 8-5, while Brooks and Pfister fell in a tightly contested match in the No. 2 spot, 9-7, to MacTaggart and Vogl. Junior Mat Nelson and senior Clark Richardson were defeated in the No. 3 position, 9-8, by Juneau and Kendall.
The Spartans continue action when they travel to West Lafayette, Ind., to face Purdue this Sunday, May 27 at 12 p.m.
