
Men's Tennis Concludes Successful Weekend at Stan Drobac Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team concluded action today at the Stan Drobac Invitational where they completed both singles and doubles play. The Spartans finished weekend doubles play against Xavier, taking three out of four matches against the Musketeers.
Junior Denis Bogatov and senior Austin Brooks capped off a successful weekend with a convincing 8-2 victory over MacDonald and Diaz, while senior Ronnie Hulewicz and junior Will Davis topped Bandy and Canelas by a score of 8-6. Earning the final doubles victory for MSU was sophomore Ryan Richmond and freshman Harry Judan, who narrowly defeated Pretorius and Moe 9-8 (9-4).
The Spartans notched an additional four victories against various opponents in singles play. Davis and Hulewicz continued their success from doubles play, as Hulewicz topped Olivarez of Western Michigan 6-3, 2-6 (10-7), and Davis took down Weigand of Toledo 6-3, 4-6 (10-6). Sophomore Drew Lied also earned a victory over Toledo, as he defeated Dudzik 6-2, 6-4 and Judan earned his second victory of the afternoon as well by beating Stabley of Detroit 6-3, 6-3.
The Spartans continue action on October 13-17 in Columbus, Ohio where they will compete in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships.
