Spring Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-Big Ten Recognition

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten Conference announced today that 102 Michigan State student-athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition for the spring athletic season. The women's track & field team led the way for MSU with 26 selections, followed by women's rowing with 22 and men's track & field with 15. Also, rowing's Joan Rayner was one of 12 Big Ten student-athletes to maintain a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
In all, 1,053 spring and at-large sports student-athletes were honored by the Big Ten Conference. Michigan State was fifth overall in spring selections, but second in regards to the ratio of honorees-per-sport. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten consideration, student-athletes must earn a varsity letter, be in at least their second academic year at a Big Ten institution and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
