BERKELEY, Calif. - The Michigan State men's tennis team (12-3) concluded its California road trip Friday, falling 6-1, to 29th-ranked Tulsa. Freshman Ronnie Hulewicz recorded MSU's only win, marking his 11th-straight win and third in as many days.
The senior duo of Alex Forger and Scott Rasmussen registered an 8-5 win over James Seagraves and Wojciech Starakiewicz to open the match, but MSU fell short of getting the doubles point.
Hulewicz picked up a come from behind win at No. 5 singles over Victor Kolik, while senior Alex Forger and freshman Austin Brooks both fell in super tiebreaking sets to their Tulsa opponents.
"Ronnie did a great job this week, going undefeated against good players," said head coach Gene Orlando. "Today's win over [Victor] Kolik was his best win of the season, and we look for him to continue his success in Big Ten play."
MSU opens Big Ten play when it travels to Iowa City for a match up with the Hawkeyes on Friday, March 20.
