Gymnastics Travels To Pittsburgh For Dual Meet

Highlights of meet against Florida
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The 22nd-ranked Michigan State gymnastics team will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., on Friday, Feb. 20 for a 7 p.m. dual meet with the Panthers. The Spartans moved into the top 25 after posting a season-high 194.775 against then-ranked No. 9 Florida on Saturday.
In the meet against Florida, sophomore Kelsey Morley set a new school record on balance beam, recording a 9.975. The mark is also the second highest in the nation so far this season. Morley also set personal-bests in the all-around, on the bars and in the floor exercise, and finished third overall in the all-around for her first career top-three finish. Senior Katlyn Roggensack and junior Emily Lopatofsky helped the team to a season-high 49.075 on floor exercise after both posting a 9.875 and tying for second overall.
Junior Rochelle Robinson ranks 44th national on bars with a 9.779 average and is sixth in the Big Ten. Roggensack is tied for 48th nationally on vault with a 9.812 average and is tied for fifth in the conference. The Spartans rank 22nd overall on uneven bars and floor exercise, and are 24th on vault and balance beam nationally.
Pittsburgh ranks 34th in the nation with a 193.267 average and 17th on vault. Junior Dani Bryan is tied for 18th nationally on vault with a 9.850 average, freshman Alicia Talucci is tied for 35th with a 9.825, and senior Alix Croop is 43rd on uneven bars with a 9.783 average. Talucci was honored as the East Atlantic Gymnasts League Rookie of the Week on Monday after setting career-highs on vault and floor, and tying her career-high on beam against EAGL rival Maryland. The award was the second of her career.
The Panthers and Spartans meet for the 19th time, with MSU holding a 17-2 all-time record. The Spartans have won the last nine meetings between the two teams. Pittsburgh traveled to East Lansing last season for the second annual Flip for a Cure meet, falling 193.600-190.700 to MSU.
