Men's Tennis Concludes Day Two of Hoosier Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
The Michigan State men's tennis team further advanced both singles and doubles players at the second day of the Hoosier Invite. Play will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008.
Day two of the invite included highlights from the single matches with four of six Spartans moving forward to the third round and the doubles team of Jason Norville (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and John Allare (Maineville, Ohio) competing in the semifinals.
Three of the four Spartans that advanced to the third round in singles play defeated their opponents in straight sets with notable scores. Senior Alex Forger (Okemos, Mich.) defeated Tim Barnoud of the University of Louisiana with an impressive 6-0, 6-2 score. Freshman Ronnie Hulewicz (Tequesta, Fla.) posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Peter Antons of Indiana University and senior Scott Rassmusen (Moraga, Calif.) went 6-3, 6-1 to overcome Lenz Theodore of Butler University. Junior Tyler Sauerbrey (Marshall, Mich.) also came out with a win over Pablo Olivarez after a three-set match of 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.
Norville and Allare posted a win over Michael Calderone and Zeyad Montasser of Western Michigan University in the third round before falling in the semifinals.
MSU will wrap up the Hoosier Invite starting at 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14.
