Spartans Continue Action At Fallon Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Sophomore Jason Norville and freshman Clark Richardson won in singles play and combined for a doubles win in the second day of action at the Fallon Invitational. The third and final day of the three-day tournament begins Sunday at 10 a.m.

Richardson, a native of Leawood, Ks., defeated Notre Dame's Dan Schafer 6-3, 6-2 and teamed with Norville for a 9-8 (7-2) over Mike DePietro and David Streeter of Michigan.

The rest of the action wasn't kind to the Spartans, as they dropped seven of eight singles matches and six of seven doubles contests overall. The host Fighting Irish controlled singles play against MSU, going 7-1, while Michigan got the best of the Spartans in doubles play in three of four matches. MSU was also 0-3 against doubles teams from Iowa.
