
Both Spartan Swim Teams Finish 5th At Ohio State Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Michigan State men's and women's swimming & diving teams each finished fifth at the two-day Ohio State Invitational. Minnesota finished first in both the men's and the women's standings.
The women's team was led by junior Heather Kiluk and sophomore Laura DeFord in the 400 IM. Kiluk placed sixth (4:29.59) and DeFord clocked a 4:33.99 to finish seventh. Freshman Courtney Roberts placed eighth in the 100 breast (1:05.37).
Senior Adam Schmitt had another strong performance, placing seventh in the 200 free with a time of 1:39.42. Schmitt also swam the second leg of the 800 free relay, teaming with senior Jason Vadney and sophomores Sho Koba and Gabe Strickler to finish fourth in the event (6:42.21).
The Michigan State men's and women's swim teams return to action Saturday, Dec. 8 at Ball State.
