
Senior Nicole Bush Named First Team All-Big Ten

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior Nicole Bush was named first team All-Big Ten following her second-place performance at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday afternoon. Juniors Alissa McKaig and Lisa Senakiewich received second team honors.
Bush has been the leader all season for the Spartans; she has finished in the top-five in four of the five events she has competed in this fall. She finished second at Jeff Drenth Memorial, first at the Spartan Invitational, fifth at the Roy Griak Invitational and 12th at Pre-Nationals. Bush showed no less on Sunday, finishing in second place at the Big Ten Championships, with a season-best time of 19:49.38.
Alissa McKaig has also had strong performances this fall, inlcuding a first-place finish at the the Drenth Memorial, second at the Spartan Invitational, 11th at the Griak, ninth at Pre-Nationals, and an eighth-place finish in Sunday's race.
Lisa Senakiewich has recorded two third-place finishes this fall, and crossed the finish line in 12th place behind Bush and McKaig at the Big Ten Championships.
The trio has been the one-two-three finishers for the Spartan in four out of five events in 2007.
Up next for Michigan State is the Great Lakes Regional Championships, held in Bloomington, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 10.
