MSU Head Coach Rick Comley
Opening statement...
"At 3-0, you're thinking they'll never score four goals. They're a really good team, and I'm not sure that was their best game, so it'll be interesting tomorrow. They took advantage of some turnovers and got back in the game, so it'll be very fun to watch the matchup tomorrow. I expect Miami to be a step better tomorrow. I thought their goaltender made a lot of good saves, Lerg made some good saves when he had to, and it turned into a good game."
On the play of his team...
"Right now, three or four goals is a bunch for us. We're going to see games like that every night. You're not going to play this team with its defensive ability to a 6-5 game."
On the play of Corey Potter...
"He's a very underrated player. He doesn't get as many points as a (Andy) Greene does, but he's a warrior. The play he made on that semi-breakaway was a tremendous play, and he didn't take a penalty."
Miami Head Coach Enrico Blasi
On the play of Michigan State...
"I thought Michigan State really took it to us for those first two periods. We said all the right things and did all the right things, but Michigan State just outplayed us this evening."
Michigan State Jr., F Drew Miller
On what they did well in tonight's game...
"I thought we just battled really hard. It's a real positive for our team because, in the past, teams have tied it up in the last five minutes, and we did not get it done. Tonight we got it done, and that was a big key to our game tonight."
On McKenzie's injury...
"You don't want to see one of your guys go down like that. He's a big part of our team."
Michigan State So., F Bryan Lerg
On his goal...
"Mueller did all of the work on that one, I just followed the play and tapped it in. After being in a slump it's nice to see one go in."
Michigan State Sr., D Corey Potter
On the team's expectations going into the game...
"Miami's a good team, but we didn't expect lose. We didn't sit back and play defense - we took it to them tonight."
