
Spartans Exit Big Ten Singles Championship

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team concluded its fall schedule at the Big Ten Singles Championships on Nov. 11. Both Michael Flowers and Alex Forger each picked up one win before exiting the tournament main draw, but the rest of the Spartans did not have the same success. Brendan Kinkopf had battled his way into the main draw from the qualifying round a day earlier, but also fell in the first round of the pool of 64.
Flowers advanced to round two with a win over Wisconsin's Michael Muskievicz (2-6, 7-5, 6-2), before falling to No. 8 seed David Bubenieck of Indiana (6-4, 6-0). Forger's round one win came against Purdue's Paul Foley (6-2, 6-3). Forger's run ended with a 6-1, 6-4 loss to No. 2 seed Matko Maravic of Michigan.
