Park Ridge, IL - For a third straight year, senior Andrew Formanczyk has been selected All-Big Ten Team for men's tennis. The honor was announced Thursday, April 28 at the University of Illinois, the host school for the 2005 Big Ten Championships.
Formanczyk finished his season with a 17-13 record overall and went 6-4 in the Big Ten. Three of his victories came against ranked players, in Michigan's No. 79 Matko Maravic, Penn State's No. 85 Mark Barry and Purdue's No. 106 Paul Rose. Formanczyk is currently ranked No. 118 in the ITA rankings.

Another Spartan to gain recognition at the award ceremony was sophomore Joseph McWilliams, who received a nomination for the Big Ten Sportsmanship award. McWilliams finished out the season 16-16 overall, included 4-6 in the Big Ten. To be a chosen candidate for this award, an athlete must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good sportsmanship. The conference will decide on which candidate will receive this award at the end of the school year.
