Rasmussen Knocked Out Of Big Ten Indoor Championship Qualifiers

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten indoor championship wrapped up day one at the Indoor Tennis Facility in East Lansing, Mich. today, finishing the qualifying round. One Spartan competed in the action and six are set to begin play tomorrow.
Freshman Scott Rasmussen was the only Spartan to compete in the qualifying round of the tournament as he faced Pierre Dumas of Minnesota in round one. Rasmussen netted a victory after winning the third set, 7-5, for a 6-3, 0-6, 7-5 decision to advance him to the second round. He then faced Matt Zollman of Purdue and fell 6-2, 6-3 to drop out of the competition.
In the main draw, Nick Rinks will lead the Spartans as he is seeded at the No. 3 spot and set to compete against Adam Schaechterle of Northwestern. Also in the action are juniors Michael Flowers and Joseph McWilliams along with sophomore Adam Monich. The remaining two Spartan competitors are freshmen Alex Forger and John Allare.
The Big Ten Indoors main draw will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. at the Indoor Tennis Facility. Admission is free to the event.
