Men's Tennis Completes Another Successful Day In Spartan Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's tennis continued play Saturday in the Spartan Invitational on the outdoor courts. The Spartans competed against DePaul in both singles and doubles and went up against Butler in doubles although no team scores were kept.

In singles action, Michigan State took five of the six match-ups with sophomore Nick Rinks knocking off George Wang, 6-0, 6-4. Sophomore Adam Monich also netted a victory, defeating Gabe Inchauste, 6-4, 6-4. Freshmen Alex Forger pulled out a second set tiebreaker to get the 6-2, 7-6 (5) win and juniors Joseph McWilliams and Mike Flowers also defeated DePaul.

The Spartans were equally as successful in doubles winning all of the matches against DePaul and two against Butler. Rinks and Monich won both of their doubles matches, defeating Inchauste and Huffman of DePaul, 8-3, and Bartish and Gill of Butler, 8-5.

Michigan State will wrap up competition on Sunday in the final day of the Spartan Invitational on the outdoor courts as it will face Western Michigan.
