CINCINNATI (AP) - Lindsay Bowen scored 28 points and No. 15 Michigan State outscored Cincinnati by 17 points in the second half Saturday to beat the Bearcats 77-61.
Bowen, who made 10 of 20 shots, was backed by Liz Shimek and Kelli Roehrig with 18 points apiece for the Spartans (6-1). Roehrig had 12 rebounds and Shimek 11.
Karen Twehues led Cincinnati (3-3) with 16 points and Toni Slaughter had 15.
After trailing 33-32 at the half, the Spartans hit 18 of 39 shots in the second half to just 6 of 25 for Cincinnati. For the game, Michigan State shot 43 percent to 40 percent for Cincinnati, but took 25 more shots than the Bearcats and forced 21 turnovers.
