Chris Snavely Earns CCHA Rookie Of The Week Honors

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Michigan State freshman defenseman Chris Snavely (Lancaster, Pa.) was selected as the CCHA Rookie of the Week Dec. 29 following his performance in MSU's second-place finish at the 39th annual Great Lakes Invitational (Dec. 27-28). He had a goal and an assist in Saturday's 7-2 win over Michigan Tech and added another goal in MSU's 4-3 loss to Boston College in the GLI championship contest.
It marked the first time in his career he has earned CCHA Rookie of the Week honors.
For the season, Snavely has appeared in 14 games with three goals and five assists for eight points.
Michigan State (10-9-1 overall, 7-4-1 CCHA) returns to Central Collegiate Hockey Association action when the Spartans entertain Northern Michigan (8-7-1 overall, 6-6-0 CCHA) this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 2-3). Face-off at Munn Ice Arena is set for 7:05 p.m. both nights.
