East Lansing, Mich. -
Q: Last year you were named to the All Big Ten team, does this put pressure on you to perform as well this year?
A: Not really. I just want to give my best performance every game that I play.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I just like to hang out with my friends.
Q: What do you miss the most from home?
A: I miss my family a lot. Sometimes I miss just being at home and having everything really close by.
Q: What was the hardest thing for you to get used to when you first came to the United States?
A: Looking back at my freshmen year it was a lot of stuff, mostly adjusting to a life of being a student-athlete. I was really young when I first came, so I had to grow up a lot and pretty fast.
Q: How do you like having more girls from your home country on the team?
A: I really like it! We became really great friends once they came here. It's really nice to be able to talk Dutch and about different things back home. It's a really nice comfort to have here being so far away from home.
Q: Did you find it hard to adjust to the American way of field hockey?
A: It was hard my freshmen year, but my level of hockey improved so much it has gotten a lot easier.
Q: What is the best field you've ever played on?
A: I really like the Louisville turf we play on. I really enjoy the MSU field.
Q: What are you going to miss the most after you graduate from Michigan State?
A: I'm going to miss just being with the team all the time. We've been together for so long now. I have enjoyed seeing everyone improve throughout the years. I'm going to really miss not being a part of the growth and development of the different players. It's something you'll never experience again.
Q: What is it like to be a captain?
A: It's a really nice honor. It brings a lot of responsibilities, but I enjoy it.
