EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Shaquala Williams scored 21 points and Cathrine Kraayeveld added 16 points and 11 rebounds as Oregon beat Michigan State 65-54 Saturday night in the semifinal round of the women's NIT.
The Ducks won for the ninth time in 11 games and advanced to the NIT final to face Houston, a 77-72 overtime winner over Virginia Tech, on Wednesday night in Eugene, Ore.
Williams shot 5-for-10 from 3-point range, and teammate Jamie Craighead made 4 3-pointers and scored 14 points for the Ducks (21-13).
Reserve Kelli Roehrig led Michigan State with 13 points. Syreeta Bromfield and Julie Pagel each scored 12.
The Ducks, who trailed 34-27 early in the second half, used a 17-3 run to take a 44-37 lead with 13:44 remaining. Craighead scored eight points in the run.
Bromfield made a 3-pointer at the 9:30 mark to tie the game at 47. Williams answered with five points in 8-0 run and the Ducks seized a 55-47 lead with 7:44 left.
Michigan State closed within 55-51, but Craighead hit her third 3-pointer of the half to help put the game out of reach.
