MUSKEGON, Mich. - Several Spartans traveled to Muskegon last Saturday, Nov. 16, for the Muskegon Community College Open, which included only freshmen and sophomores.
Six Spartans placed in the top four, including Luke Moeggenberg (149 pounds) and Michael Escobedo (157), who eached placed first in their respective weight classes. It was the first tournament championship for both wrestlers.
Other Spartan finishers were Jeff Clemens (second, 184), Zach Frutiger (third, 125), Brandon Harding (fourth, 157) and Dan Maloney (fourth, 149).
