Men's Soccer Drops Road Contest At Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Michigan State men's soccer team lost to Ohio State, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in Columbus, Ohio. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 7-3, 1-2 in the Big Ten, while Ohio State improves to 7-3, 2-0 in the conference.
Michigan State struck first as Brett Konley (Sr., Plymouth) scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season at the 24:21 mark on an assist from Kevin Wittig (Jr., Newtown, Pa.). Ohio State would answer, however, with a goal of its own in the 36th minute, sending the game into halftime tied at one.
The Buckeyes wasted very little time grabbing the lead in the second half, scoring in the 48th minute. OSU would then grab a comfortable 3-1 lead with a goal in the 67th minute.
The game marked the first of a six-game stretch of road games. The Spartans return to action on the road at Oakland on Wednesday, Oct. 9. On Sunday, Oct. 13, Michigan State returns to Big Ten action at Michigan.
