DeGraw Lifts Men's Soccer Over Penn State, 1-0

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Nick DeGraw (Jr., Clinton Twp.) scored at 75:25 as the Michigan State men's soccer team defeated Penn State, 1-0, Sunday (Oct. 20) afternoon in State College, Pa. The win lifts MSU to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten, Penn State drops to 9-7 and 3-3 in the conference.
Penn State pressured the Spartans in the first half, recording four shots to MSU's one. Senior goalkeeper Tyler Robinson (Lansing) made three saves in the half to keep the game scoreless. He made one more save in the second half en route to securing his fifth shutout of the season.
DeGraw's game-winning goal was a header that came in the 76th minute off a cross from Kevin Wittig (Jr., Newton, Pa.) deep in the Penn State end.
Each team recorded five shots in the second half.
MSU will travel to Kalamazoo, Friday (Oct. 23) for a game with Western Michigan at 3:00 p.m.
