MUNCIE, Ind. - After two hard-fought days on the courts, the Spartan men's tennis team wrapped up their trip at the Ball State Invitational Sunday.
The tandem of freshmen Cameron Marshall (Prospect, Ky.) and Anthony Stefani (Grosse Pointe Shores, Mich.) vied for the doubles C division crown. After winning two matches on Saturday, Marshall-Stefani fell just short of the title, losing 8-5 to Findling-Grupp of Western Michigan.
Marshall had to take on another Western Michigan opponent in singles. Playing for the consolation B title, he defeated Erik Lindroos 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore Mike Hodge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and junior Adam Hourani (Lansing, Mich.) also were victorious in the consolation round, winning the doubles B division 8-4 over Glendenning-Van Wasbeek from Northern Illinois.
The Spartans play next in the Tom Fallon Invitational at Notre Dame September 28-30.
