Indiana Upends Men's Soccer, 3-0

East Lansing, Mich. - The Michigan State men's soccer team fell in its Big Ten opener to Indiana by a score of 3-0, Sunday, Sept. 23 in Bloomington, Ind. With the loss, MSU now stands at 4-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
Indiana took a 1-0 lead that they would not relinquish at the 16:48 mark when Tyler Hawley scored unassisted on a header. Indiana delivered a crushing blow to the Spartans when they scored to make it 2-0 in the last 22 seconds of the first half on a goal by Pat Noonan.
The Hoosiers closed out the scoring in the 48th minute on a goal by Vijay Dias, making the final score 3-0.
After recording five shots in the first half, the Spartans were held without a shot in the second. Mike Robinson (So., Troy) made three saves in the loss.
State returns to action Sunday, Sept. 30 in Evanston, Ill., when they take on Northwestern at 3:00 p.m. EDT.
