Women's Gymnastics Falls To No. 13 Ohio State

Columbus, Ohio - The Michigan State women's gymnastics team was defeated by Ohio State, 195.550-193.975, on Friday, February 9, in Columbus. The Spartans had three second-place performances during the meet, while posting four career highs.
Senior Lori Ruane (Granger, Ind.) paced the Spartans, taking second with season highs on both the vault (9.775) and floor (9.875).
Senior Elisabeth Forshier (South St. Paul, Minn.) tied Ruane for second place on the vault, marking the fourth time this year she has scored a season-high 9.775.
Freshman Lindsey Voth (Sarasota, Fla.) followed Ruane and Forshier, finishing fourth on the vault with a career-high 9.750.
On the beam, junior Jane McIntosh (Concord, Mich.) and sophomore Julie Devaty (North Olmsted, Ohio) tied for second with a 9.825. The score marked a career high for Devaty, who also recorded career highs on the floor and uneven bars, earning a 9.800 in both events.
Also setting a season high on the bars was sophomore Diane Crea (Beaver Falls, Pa.), who placed fourth with a 9.850.
The Spartans return to action Sunday (Feb. 11), when they compete at Bowling Green during a 2 p.m. meet.
