-- Senior center Erin Skelly became just the second player in school history to record 100+ blocks for her career. Skelly, who swatted away two shots at Iowa, now has 101 career blocked shots. She is second all-time in MSU history in blocked shots behind Kristen Rasmussen (1997-2000, 194).
-- MSU's last three losses have been by a combined seven points - 52-50 loss vs. both Indiana and Illinois and a 50-47 defeat at Iowa.
-- Freshman forward Julie Pagel posted her 15th game this season in double figures with 11 points at Iowa. Pagel, who had been leading the team averaging 7.9 rebounds per game, hauled down just four before fouling out with 38.5 seconds to go.
-- MSU shot just 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the free throw line at Iowa. The Spartans connected on 3-of-4 (.750) shots from the line in the first half, but made only 5-of-11 (.455) in the second half. On the other hand, Iowa shot 71.4 percent (15-of-21) from the charity stripe.
-- The Spartans played their third straight game without senior forward Becky Cummings. Cummings, who has been in and out of the lineup since suffering a torn plantar fascia in her left foot on Dec. 3, is averaging 10.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 16 games this year.
-- Michigan State closes out the regular season this Sunday (Feb. 25), at 2 p.m., when the Spartans entertain Minnesota at the Breslin Center. The MSU-Minnesota can be seen live on AT&T Cable, and also heard live on The Fan 730 AM - WVFN or at www.msuspartans.com.
-- Sunday's game against Minnesota will also mark Senior Day activities for the Spartan basketball squad. MSU will honor five seniors (Becky Cummings, Nikki Davis, Donita Johnson, Christie Pung and Erin Skelly) in a post-game ceremony.
