Fekete Fancy: Perhaps the Spartan's most outstanding wrestler of the moment is 197-pounder Nik Fekete. This sensational sophomore has won four of his last six Big Ten dual bouts including victories over No. 8 Pat Quirk (Illinois), No. 7 Nick Preston (Ohio State), a major decision over Purdue's Jon Bush and a decision over Ryan Fulsaas (Iowa). His 43 takedowns leads the team and sports the second best dual record at 7-3. Fekete is only one win away from matching his career-high 18 wins from his freshman season.
Spartans on the Web: The Spartan team can be followed with live match-by-match updates on either the Spartans' home web site at www.msuspartans.com or on the MSU wrestling web site, www.msuwrestling.com.
McNamara Keeps Rolling: Senior Pat McNamara (133) recorded his 103rd career victory this weekend, moving him into sole position of 11th place on the MSU all-time career wins list. McNamara also has 23 wins so far on the season. McNamara rattled off seven straight victories, until his loss to No. 1 Eric Juergens of Iowa on Sunday. He is currently ranked sixth in the country and defeated No.3 Brett Lawerence of Minnesota on Friday.
Nadolsky Knockes off Another One: No. 17 Karl Nadolsky pulled off another upset this weekend over Iowa's No. 5 Mike Zadick, 5-3. Nadolsky has already dumped the No. 1 wrestler at 149 pounds, Adam Tirapelle of Illinois, before defeating yet another top five foe. Nadolsky already has 20 wins on the season and is only six away from bettering his career-best of 26 from last season.
