Women's Tennis Falls to Minnesota, 7-0

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team lost, 7-0, to Minnesota Sunday afternoon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. The defeat drops MSU to 2-7 overall, 0-3 in the Big Ten, while UM improves to 10-3, 3-1.
Minnesota won all nine matches in the dual, including a default at No. 6 singles.
Junior Kelli Hayes (Munster, Ind.) played the best match of the afternoon for Michigan State at No. 3 singles, extending Kim Simonsen to three sets before falling 3-6, 6-4, 2-6.
MSU returns to the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility to host in-state rival Michigan on March 25 at 1 p.m. The Spartans will then hit the road for five consecutive dual matches, beginning with a March 28 trip to Western Michigan.
