Cincinnati, Ohio - The Michigan State women's basketball team defeated Cincinnati, 88-83, tonight at the Shoemaker Center to advance to the quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitational Tournament. The Spartans, who improve to 19-11 on the season, will face the winner of Sunday's Wisconsin-DePaul contest.
Senior Maxann Reese scored 29 points to help the Spartans win their first road game since Jan. 20. Senior Kristen Rasmussen added 22 points, including 14 in the first half to help MSU overcome a 14-point deficit.
Redshirt freshman Vnemina Reese turned in her third-straight double-figure scoring game with a season-high 11 points and tied her career high with six steals.
