Joanne Palumbo McCallie sees the great potential before her. That's the easy part.

The real challenge for Michigan State's new women's basketball coach is getting others to believe in and help her accomplish her lofty mission.

"There is no reason why Michigan State shouldn't be one of the elite programs in the country," McCallie, 35, said. "That's why I came here. I want MSU to be the next UConn (Connecticut). Their campus goes crazy for their women's and men's teams because they're both so successful.
