Boston College Defeats Tennessee Tech In MSU Chevrolet Classic

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Boston College defeated Tennessee Tech, 80-64, in the second game of the MSU Chevrolet Classic. Boston College opens the season 1-0 while Tennessee Tech falls to 0-1. BC will play host Michigan State in the championship game of the MSU Chevrolet Classic at the Breslin Center on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Boston College jumped out to an early 10-2 lead in the first five minutes, but Tech rallied to tie the score at 18 with 9:07 remaining. BC would then go on a 12-0 run over the next 3:29 to break the game wide open. The Eagles would take a 48-28 lead into the half as Rachel Byars connected on a three pointer at the first half buzzer.
Tennessee Tech attempted to make a comeback in the second half, but could never get any closer than 10 points.
Byars led Boston College, recording a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Nicole Conway also posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Tennessee Tech was led by Janet Holt with 17 points. Crystal Andrews also scored in double figures with 10.
Tennessee Tech will face Arkansas State in the consolation game at 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
