EAST LANSING, MICH. - The Michigan State men?s soccer team (3-2-1) lost to 23rd-ranked California (4-1-1), 4-1, Sunday afternoon in Berkeley, Calif.
Sophomore Brett Konley (Plymouth, Mich.) scored the lone goal for the Spartans at the 50:25 mark. Junior Mike Trivelloni (Mount Clemens, Mich.) provided the assist, bringing his point total to six on the year.
California lead the entire game, scoring their first goal in the 10th minute. The rest of the scoring came from Golden Bear junior Ramiro Arrendono, who scored three goals in the second half.
Michigan State returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 26, opening their Big Ten season at eight-ranked Indiana. Gametime is 2:00 p.m. EST.
