CAREER NOTES: Came to MSU after one season at Bowling Green, following BGSU’s announcement that it would be discontinuing its baseball program, and maintained transfer even after BGSU reinstated baseball ... Three-time recipient of the Danny Litwhiler Defensive Player of the Year MSU Team Award ... Three-time Academic All-Big Ten and two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades recipient.
2023 (JUNIOR): Earned second-team All-Big Ten recognition ... garnered Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades ... Was the recipient of MSU’s Danny Litwhiler Defensive Player of the Year team award for the third-straight year ... One of four Spartans to start and play all 55 games in the 2023 season, with 50 at second base and five at shortstop, while leading MSU and finishing sixth in the B1G with 139 assists, logging 105 putouts in 247 chances for a .988 fielding percentage ... Was a part of 23 fielding double plays, ranking tied for 25th in the B1G ... At the plate, ranked eighth in B1G in toughest to strikeout (8.2 AB per K), with just 26 strikeouts in 213 ABs ... Was also fifth in the B1G and 114th in the NCAA in on-base percentage (.467), in addition to ranking ninth in the league in batting average (.343) ... Had eight multiple RBI games, with two ribbies in four games, three RBI in three contests and highlighted by a career-high four RBI at USC Upstate (Feb. 24), boosted by career-best two doubles ... Started all 54 games at second base, leading the Big Ten in fielding double plays with 39, helping MSU lead the B1G and rank fifth in the NCAA with 53 double plays, as well as leading the conference and ranking sixth in the country with 0.98 double plays per game ... Posted 143 assists and 115 putouts ... At the plate, hit .271 with 29 RBI, as well as ranking tied for second on the team with six home runs, including first grand slam of Spartan career in MSU’s season-finale at Nebraska on May 21 ... Was also second on the team with a .392 on-base percentage, 34 walks and eight hit by pitches, along with third in both runs scored (37) and doubles (13) ... Had a nine-game hitting streak (March 29 - April 13), ranking fourth on the Spartan squad, as well as ranking second with an 18-game reached base streak ... 2021 (FRESHMAN): Earned Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades ... Garnered the Danny Litwhiler Defensive Player of the Year MSU team award ... Made 38 starts, with 37 coming at second base and one at shortstop, posting 100 assists, 85 putouts and was a part of 21 double plays, as MSU led the Big Ten with 41 double plays turned, ranking 45th in the NCAA, as well as leading the B1G and ranking 11th in the NCAA with 0.93 double plays per game ... At the plate, was the Spartans’ leadoff batter in 32 games, hitting .272, including sharing the team-lead and ranking tied for 21st in the B1G in doubles with 10 ... Also tied for third on the team with total extra base hits with 12 on 10 doubles, one triple, and one home run, belting first collegiate home run in the Purdue game on April 12, blasting a solo shot down the right field line and into the Red Cedar River ... Led MSU with a .381 on-base percentage, ranking second on the team and tied for 14th in the B1G with 24 walks, as well as ranking tied for second on the team with four hit-by-pitch ... Had a team-high 18-game on-base streak, reaching base in every game that had an at bat from March 12-April 12, snapping the streak on April 16 by not reaching base at Illinois ... Finished the season logging at least one hit in 12 of the last 16 games, having a five-game hit streak halted without a hit on May 8, but bounced back with three hits on May 9 and two knocks on May 14, then adding three hits on May 21 at Rutgers ... For the season, longest hitting streak was seven games (March 12-21), finishing with at least one hit in 28 of 39 games with an at bat ... Was tied for second on the team with 11 multiple hit games, including a team-best tying nine games with two hits, as well as two games with a season-high three hits, coming on May 9 vs. Michigan, then matching it on May 21 at Rutgers ... AT BOWLING GREEN (2020): Started 10 of 11 games played out of BGSU’s 13 games in COVID-shortened season of 2020 ... Knocked five RBI in seven hits with one triple in 32 at bats for a .219 average, as well as ranking third on team with a .375 on-base percentage, while the five RBI was tied for third ... Posted season-high two RBI, along with lone triple of season at Saint Louis (3/8/20) ... Also tied for fourth on the team with six walks and collected a team-high tying two hit-by-pitch ... In the field, made 16 putouts and posted 19 assists, highlighted by season-high four putouts at Saint Louis (3/7/20) and four assists at Youngstown State (3/10/20).
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner at Lakeland High School for coaches Chris McDonald, Tom Langan, Tom Lock and Brad Farquhar, his father … Earned First-Team All-State honors, as well as garnering Dream Team All-State accolades after guiding the Eagles to their second-straight Lakes Valley Conference crown ... Also a two-time all-district and all-region honoree, as well as a three-time all-conference selection ... Also lettered for the Eagles’ basketball team ... A member of the LHS National Honor Society.
