Ben Murawski Featured on Outland Trophy Watch List

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State fifth-year offensive lineman Ben Murawski has been named to the Outland Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced on Tuesday.
The third-oldest major college football award, the Outland Trophy was created in 1946 and annually recognizes the best interior lineman in the country. Former Spartan All-American Ed Bagdon is the only player in MSU history to win the Outland Trophy (1949).
Standing at 6-7, 340 pounds, Murawski started all 12 games at left tackle for UConn in 2025. He graded out as the No. 27 offensive tackle in the FBS by Pro Football Focus last season and was named a second-team Group of Five All-American by HERO Sports.
The Harleysville, Pennsylvania, native played four seasons (2022-25) at UConn. Following a redshirt season in 2022, he appeared in 30 games for the Huskies the last three years, including 19 starts.
Murawski transferred to Michigan State in January and competed in spring practice for the Spartans. He was selected to Phil Steele's second-team All-Big Ten preseason team in June.
The semifinalists for the Outland Trophy will be announced on Nov. 18, followed by a joint announcement with ESPN of the three finalists on Nov. 24. The 81st recipient of the Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN in December. The official presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Nebraska, on Jan. 27, 2027.
